OLiBiBi

Korean D2C brand storefront — premium Tunisian olive oil sold into the Korean market.

Overview

OLiBiBi (올리비비) is a Korean olive oil brand importing single-variety Chemlali extra virgin olive oil from Zaghouan, Tunisia. The storefront tells the origin story in Korean and English and hands buyers off to Naver Smart Store to check out.

Project story

Korean premium grocery is a gifting market: the bottle has to earn trust before the price is shown. The site is built as a narrative — harvest, acidity, cold-press window, packaging — so the purchase button lands after the proof, not before it.

Problem

A Tunisian producer selling into Korea has no brand recognition and no local retail shelf. Buyers needed the provenance, quality specs, and gifting story in Korean before they would trust an unfamiliar import at a premium price.

Solution

A bilingual Korean/English brand site on Next.js and Vercel: origin and process storytelling, quality specs (2026 harvest, sub-0.2% acidity), gift-set merchandising for 250ml/500ml options, social proof from Instagram and reviews, and Naver Smart Store as the checkout path — no backend to operate.

Features

  • Bilingual Korean / English storefront
  • Origin & production storytelling
  • Gift sets and 250ml / 500ml options
  • Naver Smart Store checkout handoff

Lessons learned

  • In gifting markets, packaging and provenance are the product page
  • Delegating checkout to the local marketplace beats rebuilding it
  • Localization is typography and tone, not just translation
